Abisko Pathfinder's 3L pants are shell pants made from innovative, renewable 100% biobased polyamides, extracted from vegetable oils and food waste, leaving a much lower empreinte in the whole production process, e.g. 3x less greenhouse gas emissions compared to normal polyamides. The totally PFC-free water-repellent treatment, combined with the electrospun membrane, results in a durable outdoor companion with a soft feel, good breathability and waterproofing.
This is a product for outdoor enthusiasts who care about the environment and value function, comfort and quality, to be used for all hikes and daily adventures in changing weather. The pants have been made with high-quality fabrics and zippers to last for many years. An entirely new material was created in close collaboration with the fabric supplier. During development,accent was focused on creating an ecologically sustainable garment in waterproof fabric with high breathability.
The shell pants are waterproof and seam-sealed. The fabric is highly breathable, perfect for trekking, hiking or more intense activitiesautres. The pants are lightweight and therefore perfect for carrying in the backpack. The fabric is designed for high activity levels and features mechanical stretch, ensuring comfort during all types of movement, while the construction offers an exceptional fit. You'll find four zipped pockets, and the leg ends are reinforced and can be adjusted with a drawcord. The legs also feature zippers that can be opened from both the top and bottom for ventilation if required. All zippers are of the YKK Aquaguard® type, which is water-repellent, meaning water won't get in there either. The waist can be adjusted with an integrated belt, whose loops are equipped with small fabric hooks where you can hang your gear if necessary.
The pants also feature an integrated RECCO® reflector in case of extreme weather conditions, or should an accident occur during your adventure. RECCO® is a rescue technique used by organized rescue teams to locate people lost in the wild or buried in an avalanche. The reflector can be described as a small antenna that is integrated into the pants and is therefore always with you. It's always active, because it's not battery-powered and doesn't need to be switched on. In action, the rescue team uses a RECCO® detector which emits a signal that hits the reflector and bounces back, locating the reflector. With an integrated RECCO® reflector, you'll feel safer during outdoor activities such as mushroom and berry picking, or hiking in the mountains.
